Frequently Asked Questions
The FAQ section is a collection of questions and answers about all facets of web development for Virtual Marketing Concepts. Below is a list of the most frequently asked questions. If you can’t find the answers to your question, submit the question to our staff on our Contact Us page.
Q: I want to put my business online, but I don’t know where to start. This is my first website- can you help me?
A: Absolutely! You do not need any online experience at all. Virtual Marketing Concepts offers free consultation on all services. We help you right from the start! Just ask us! We are here to help you.
Q: Will your staff help me register a domain name for my business website?
A: Yes, our team will help you determine the best domain name or URL (universal resource locator) for your business. In some cases it is best to register multiple domains for internet marketing purposes.
Q: What preparations does my business have to do to get online?
A: Brochures, logos, photographs, business cards etc. are all great resources to use. For new businesses, we will help you get started from scratch. At Virtual Marketing Concepts, we work together with you to help answer these questions.
Q: How long does it typically take to build a website?
A: There are many factors that determine the time required to complete a website. On average it takes approximately 14 to 30 days (for a basic site) or anywhere between 30 and 90 days (for a large complex site) from the date we begin the process to your website being posted on the Web.
Q: How much input do I have during the website design process?
We welcome your input! The more input we receive from you, the better we will be able to satisfy your needs and produce a site that will have the desired look and impact that you want. It’s your website; we want it to look the way you want it.
Q: If I already have a site, can you help me improve it?
A: Yes. We can usually redesign or freshen up an existing website quicker and for less money than building one from scratch. Whether your company’s website “doesn’t look professional,” takes too long to load or the navigation is baffling to visitors, VMC can help.
Q: Can you use my business’s existing logo, brochure design and other materials for my website?
A: Certainly. If your logo and promotional materials are not in electronic format, we can convert them to a format appropriate for your website. We can accept almost any type of file. We will help you keep your online image consistent with your existing image.
Q: Does my business need to be computer-based in order to have a website? Do I need to know about computers?
A: You don’t need to have computers involved in your business in order to have a website. Many companies do filing, invoicing and more without a computer. Creating a website is more about exposing your business to new potential clients and generating new sales. There is no need to overhaul the way your company does business.
Q: What does ‘website maintenance’ mean?
A: Website Maintenance refers to changes made to your website after the initial design. Keeping a website up-to-date is essential in having repeat visitors to your site. Updating the site with sales, newsletters, press releases, financial figures and links are all examples of Website Maintenance.
If you already have a website but no time to manage it, we offer daily, weekly, and monthly updates. Contact us to arrange a custom website maintenance contract that suits your company.
Q: My company is in the service industry. Will a website help my business?
A: Absolutely! Over 50% of the population who are online are researching businesses that provide services or products. Your service-oriented business can immediately provide samples, references, location, hours of operation and more from your website 24hours/7days a week/365 days a year.
Q: Does Virtual Marketing Concepts host websites once completed? Will my site be hosted in your office or in a warehouse somewhere?
A: Your website will be hosted at our office on state of the art servers. We have generator backup in case of power outages and use redundant power supplies and hard drives in case of equipment failure. The success of your business is as important to us as it is to you.
Q: What are the costs?
A: Due to the varying complexity of the products we offer, we cannot provide a generalized price. The best way to find the cost for your project is to discuss your needs so we can develop a unique quote for you.
